Film Review V: Musica

  This film completely took me by surprise when I decided to watch it. Going into it, I was a little hesitant to really embrace the quirkiness of this film when I first started it; however, as the film progressed I found myself becoming more appreciative of the creativity that went into creating it. It was beautiful, it was authentic, and it was innovative. I felt the love between all the characters and I think that is something that is missing in films today.  One of scene in particular that stood out to me was when the main character, Rudy, got caught cheating. Not only was the build up to this scene executed extremely well, but the usage of color to depict his contradictory feelings towards the two different women was excellent. Whenever he was with his white girlfriend, the colors were muted, bland, cool tones to represent his indifference towards her, but when he was with his Brazilian girlfriend, the colors were warm and inviting, proving that his true allegiance was to ...
